While the DPW does trim trees, we DO NOT trim trees within a proximity of electrical wires. Find out who to contact and the information needed to complete a request. 1. Street name and if possible, closest house # 2. Pole # 3. Does the line go from the pole to a house. 4. If the wire does not go to a house, look to see if it is thick or thin. If you are unsure if a tree is caught in an electric wire, contact. National Grid at 1-800-465-1212 NOT an electrical wire, then contact Verizon or Comcast. Start with Verizon unless the wire has been clearly identified as a Comcast cable wire. Verizon - 800-446-8946 Comcast - 800-556-9979 (Ext 4 or 1)
